CARMEN SANTOS

Master of the Costa Rican abstracts arts. Her designs and compositions are very refined. Carmen Santos’s artworks denote great quality, marvelous and wise colors textures. Lived in Mexico and New York, where it remains good part of her artistic production. Her artworks are found in the United States, Latin America and Europe.

In 1987, Costa Rica grants her the Unique National Painting Prize, and since then her work is expanded to other adjacent expressive styles of plastics arts, as the vitral; the arts of fire (glass blown), iron and other old and modern techniques of ceramic and metalwork. With no place for doubt, for those that followed by fence the creative itinerary of Carmen Santos, her recent incorporation to the techniques of the silk and the graphic production wont take them by surprise. Carmen Santos, with her inspiring example is an icon for the new generations that see in her a luminary in the historic future of the Costa Rica’s culture.
